There are few more enjoyable and fulfilling meals than a big plate of barbeque. Pulled pork is one of my favorite BBQ dishes, and I've sampled it in BBQ joints all around the country. I'd never really considered trying to make it at home, though, until recently. Barbeque is slow-cooked, and I couldn't imagine spending hours with a hot oven going to make dinner. Then, I got a crock-pot, and it became obvious that the solution to my "slow-cook" problem had presented itself.

This can be made in a regular way, on top of the stove. I like to prepare this in the slow cooker. You can load the cooker with the ingredients and set it on "low" to cook all day. Add a salad and some type of hot bread and there's dinner. If you prefer cooking it the regular way, it doesn't take that long to do. This can be ready in about 30 minutes, though the slow-cooker idea is great if you'd like to have it ready when you arrive home for dinner.
I say, forget the grill on Memorial Day and stick slow cooker recipes chicken curry the oven. Choose an inexpensive cut of meat and braise it over low heat for a very long time. The results will be more free time for the host, a mountain of meat for your guests and a load off your wallet.
The baked beans, on the other hand, were dynamite. Deep, dark molasses flavor hit all the right notes, and I scraped every bit out that tiny cup. By the end I was using the beans as a dipping sauce for the sandwich. I'm not sure if that's bbq pulled pork recipe makes the brisket "dirty," but it did feel wrong in all the right ways.
